Alejandro Guerra started his musical career 2003-2004, when he enrolled for band at Christen Middle School in his hometown Laredo, TX. In 2006, he continued his musical  interest by joining Raymond and Tirza Martin High School band, but also had the privilege to enroll in the Vidal  M.Trevino School of Communications & Fine Arts where he  was part of the high brass studio under the direction of Robert Lopez. He was also part of the Ovation Brass under  the direction of John Reimund and part of the V.M.T. Symphony that was conducted by Melissa S. Hinojosa at  the time.

In 2010, Alejandro received a phone call from Dr. Guglielmo Manfredi, professor of horn at West Texas A&M University (WTAMU) where he later received a packet of information about WTAMU. This was the deciding factor for him to enroll at WTAMU that Fall to pursue his degree in Music Education. Alejandro studied under Dr. Guglielmo Manfredi for his primary instrument and was a member of WT Horn Choir and Brass Choir under his baton. Alejandro has also had the privilege to be under the baton of Don LeFevre, Dr. Russ Teweleit, and Dr. Gary Garner with the Symphonic Band, Concert Band, and Wind Ensemble. During his time at WT, he performed at the Texas Music Educators Association (TMEA) held in San Antonio and the College Band Directors National Association (CBDNA) Conference held in Kansas City.

In 2015, Alejandro received his Bachelor of Music and went on to further his musical education and received his Master of Music Performance as well, both from West Texas A&M University. While getting his Master’s degree, he was the graduate assistant for the WTAMU Marching band, Symphonic band, concert band and university band during the Fall and Spring seasons of 2015-2016 and 2016-2017. During this time, he assisted the horn choir and brass choir and was given the opportunity to conduct both ensembles.

Alejandro relocated from Amarillo, TX and currently resides in McAllen, TX. This will be his fourth year at Sharyland North Junior High and he is looking forward to enriching students’ lives and education through music for years to come.
