Meet the Teacher:
Hello 8th graders! My name is Mrs. Moreno. I am pleased to be your eighth grade teacher this year. I have been teaching at Sharyland North for the past nine years. I graduated from the University of Texas Pan- American. I am passionate about teaching and look forward to reading our class novels together!
While I am not teaching or planning awesome things for us to do at school....I enjoy traveling, shopping, dining-out and spending time with my husband, my two sons and our two boston terriers. I have lived in Texas, South Carolina and Virginia. Texas is my favorite :)
Course Description:
Students enrolled in 8th grade ELA will continue to increase and refine their communication skills. The course focus includes study of diverse themes in literature of many genres. The students will plan, draft and complete written compositions on a regular basis and read extensively.
Goals and Expectations:
1. Learn as much as you can. Be the best student you can be.
2. Make the classroom and the school a good place to learn.

- 1 plastic folder (to hold Bell Ringers and Newsela Sheets)
- Markers/Colored Pencils
- Pencils
- Highlighters

- Glue-All
Grading Policy:
Major Assignments = 60%
Minor Assignments = 40%
